Computational Stability and Transition Laboratory

Texas A&M University College of Engineering

Visiting scholars from VKI and TU Delft are researching at the CST lab

Posted on October 9, 2017 by Ethan Beyak

Two visiting scholars from Europe have arrived at the CST lab this month!

  • Fernando MirĂ³ MirĂ³, from von Karman Institute (Belgium), is currently working on implementing models for chemical nonequilibrium and elemental diffusion for stability analysis.
  • Koen Groot, from TU Delft (Netherlands), is currently working on the mathematical fundamentals of global, absolute, and convective instabilities, as well as further developing Spatial BiGlobal methods.

Both of our guests are also developing a spectral Chebyshev discretization approach to solve the non-self-similar boundary layer equations.

We are very fortunate to have such intelligent and motivated minds work with us, advancing the state-of-the-art of boundary layer disturbance modeling.
